In 10 Years

Mira from Somewhere There tagged me in a fun thingy today..

Rules are simple:
1. I have to post where I want to be in 10 years
2. I have to pass it on to 10 of my bloggy friends!

Where do I want to be in 10 years...

In 10 years J will (hopefully? maybe?) be retired with the military, and we will be settled down somewhere in Tennessee. God willing we will have at least two babies. Although.. I would love 10.. you know, one for every year.. but I don't see J being too thrilled with that idea. haha

In 10 years I will have a degree in Early Childhood Education or Dental Hygiene. Or maybe I will just go for both?? Either way in 10 ten years I will finally have a picture of me walking across a stage to receive my diploma, and I will be working at a great job doing what I love.

In 10 years I will be working part time with a nonprofit organization and speaking to teens/young adults about certain issues I've had to deal with in my past. (In 10 years I hope I'm finally brave enough to talk about it.)

In 10 years I hope I'm still blogging, and posting photos from trips to Ireland, Italy, and New Zealand! :)

Okay, your turn!
I'm going to cheat and tag everyone that reads this!

We went mud ridin' with my family and had a blast!

I can finally see the end of this beast (*aka* deployment) in sight!! Next month I will be busy with sign paintings and other welcome home projects for our 'bees. I'm so excited! It's starting to sink in & become real that my husband will be home very soon. Anxious/excited feelings are replacing the worried "will things be the same..??" feelings. Each day I wake up and smile as I remind myself we are one day closer. One day closer to the day I get to wrap my arms around J! Ahhh I can't wait! {but of course I will because I'm a military spouse, and that's what we do--we wait.}

I'm still on the hunt for a homecoming outfit. I feel like I've searched everywhere.. but I haven't found anything I like. I refuse to wear jeans and a t'shirt but at this rate I think I might have to. I could really use some help from Stacy London... Would you mind giving her my contact info? Ha. I also need to find an outfit for my dad's wedding that is next month. This is what I've found so far that I really really really like:

What do you think?? Yay or nay?

Lately I've been having crazy dreams about my blog. In one of the dreams there was a psycho reading my blog and stalking me. Last night I had a dream that someone was stealing my photos and pretending to be me on another website. After having these dreams I wake up feeling super paranoid and start questioning whether I should make my blog private.

I'm really torn about it because I have been able to "meet" a bunch of great ladies on here.. but having my blog public means I really don't know who is reading. & Since J is in the military I feel I have to be overly cautious when it comes to these things.

So my question for all of you (especially the military wives) that have public blogs, do you ever get creeped out about not really knowing who is reading? Have you considered making your blog private? Why do you choose to keep it public?

**Update: I have decided to keep my blog public. I will only keep certain things (i.e., our names and where we are moving) private. Thank you to everyone that replied with their thoughts and opinions!

Yep, He's A Keeper

My V'Day gift from J this year was a day at a fancy casino spa. (I cried when he called and told me what my gift was!) I went today and enjoyed five hours of relaxation and being pampered. It was heavenly!!

When the staff at the spa learned that J surprised me by arranging everything for my special Valentine's Day from over there, they all did the "awwwwwwww" thing and agreed that he is definitely a keeper. :)

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Thursday, February 11, 2010

I've only seen snow maybe four or five times my whole life (it was never more than 2", and usually only lasted an hour).. so the fact that it's sleeting right now and it's suppose to snow (2"-5") tomorrow morning, makes me very excited!!

When I realized it was sleeting I went outside to bring Max in and I found him covered in ice and looking confused. He couldn't figure out what was falling on him. I felt bad but it was kinda funny. I can't wait to see how he acts when we move to XX, because it snows a lot there!

Speaking of Max... Last Saturday I brought him to the vet to get shots and a checkup because he has been coughing lately. I found out he has heartworms. :( The vet seems to think we caught it early though, which is a good thing. He has to take an antibiotic for 14 days before he can start treatments to kill the heartworms. He will have four treatments.. and his first treatment is next week. I don't know much about it but I'm hoping it won't hurt him. All the vet really told me was that I have to keep him from running around until all the treatments are done. I've never been a huge animal lover but I feel like he is my child so it upsets me knowing that he is sick! I hope the vet can make him feel better soon.

THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS, THAT'S WHO!!!

In honor of the Super Bowl...

:) GEAUX SAINTS!

6 Months Down

The past 6 months have been emotionally draining and overwhelming. There have been many days where I've had to force myself out of bed and sometimes even out of the house. (No I haven't been depressed.. It just seems easier to be alone instead of having to force a fake smile.) Somewhere in the middle of this crazy journey I have found strength I never knew I had though. I have also learned who my true friends are, and which family members I can rely on. (Sadly there are not many in either category..)

I'm starting to get anxious about J's homecoming. We haven't received any official dates but there has been one rumor going around.. and I'm hoping the rumor is true because it's sooner than I thought it would be. I've already started my hunt for the perfect homecoming outfit. I think I want to wear a dress but I'm not 100% sure. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

Trouble Maker

Max (our dog) has a little game he likes to play with me...

When he is outside and sees me walk by the back patio windows he barks to get my attention.. if I don't stop and pay attention to him, he turns his water bowl over. He figured out a few months ago that if he turns his water over then eventually I will come out to fill it back up and he will get the attention he wants.

It was cute at first.. but.. it's getting old fast.
