TTC Update

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

This morning I received a phone call from my new fertility doctor. (Dr. G, the doc I had last month, moved to England a few weeks ago.) He went over Dr. G's notes and asked me a few questions to get caught up on what's going on. He said all my lab tests came back good, but he seems to think I did not ovulate. :( After much discussion he said he could up my dose of the Clomid to 100mg.. but since we're PCSing in a few weeks we decided it would be best for me to skip this cycle and continue in July. The reason? Because I don't want to be traveling for a week while sick from any possible side effects. He said it would be fine and he completely understood because let's face it, no one likes to travel while they are sick. So, once we arrive in WA I will schedule an appointment with the women's health clinic and we will go from there.

Last Monday I started taking the Clomid. I only had to take it for five days, and I (thankfully) didn't have many side effects. I mostly just had mild cramps, mood swings, and headaches. I have to use an ovulation kit every day now to see if I've had a LH surge. So far nothing.. but I'm still hanging on to hope!

This past weekend my mom moved out of our house. (She lived with me while J was away and a little bit before he deployed due to health concerns.) I thought I would be alright with it but I cried like a baby on the ride home. I want to blame it on the fact that my hormones were nuts from the Clomid but deep down I know that's not why. It's just another lesson from God that I need to completely trust Him..

Oh! and I got a hair cut last week. J loves it but I'm still not sure if I like it or not. What do y'all think?

There's Hope (Even For Us)

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Yesterday we met with a specialist about my infertility.

I was so anxious before the appointment that I felt shaky. I almost talked myself out of going because I was worried we would be told there's no hope for us. I didn't want to deal with the emotions that would follow hearing those words. A few months before J deployed a doctor told me that my chances of conceiving would be very low due to my hypothyroid disease.. I didn't want to go through that heartache (and depression) again.

This time was different though. Different doctor. Different opinion.

Doctor G took us into her office and quickly made us feel relaxed. She asked us a ton of questions and then discussed a game plan. She thinks my thyroid is not the problem.. she thinks I'm just not ovulating. So, we're going to try a few months of Clomid (starting next month) and go from there.

J and I both feel like a huge weight has been lifted off our shoulders now that we know there's hope for us! We're both very excited and we're praying the Clomid will work.

* Will you please join us in prayer that the Clomid will be successful and that I won't have any side effects from it? Thanks! :)
